The promotion of Rector Baptist College of Theology (BCT) Benin City to the rank of Associate Professor has been confirmed by the leadership of Nigerian Baptist Convention. The announcement was made on Thursday 14th September 2023 during annual Ministers' Conference at the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary (NBTS) Ogbomoso but it took effect from September 2022.

By that promotion, the Rector can be addressed as:

Rev. Assoc Prof. Samuel Olugbenga AKINTOLA.
